Journalists from the North Country will meet two weeks before Election Day to examine the campaign for New York's 21st Congressional District, a Siena Research Institute poll, and the sentencing of a Montreal father convicted in the killing of his daughter in Ticonderoga.
The discussion includes Pat Bradley, North Country Bureau Chief for WAMC Northeast Public Radio, Cara Chapman, the Champlain Valley Reporter for North Country Public Radio, and Alek LaShomb, Plattsburgh Bureau Chief for WCAX-TV.
A Siena Research Institute poll shows the two candidates competing for the open seat in New York's 21st Congressional District in a close contest. Blake Gendebien and Anthony Constantino are the candidates, and the panel will discuss the unlikelihood of a debate between them at this stage of the campaign. The same poll addresses the New York gubernatorial race between Kathy Hochul and Bruce Blakeman among NY21 voters.
LaShomb and Bradley will discuss the sentencing of a father from Montreal convicted in the killing of his 9-year-old daughter last summer in Ticonderoga.
LaShomb and Chapman will cover the America 250 reenactment of the Battle of Valcour, fought in October 1776 on Lake Champlain. Five sailors killed in that battle were laid to rest this past week at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
