A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect for Lake Champlain tonight, prompting warnings for boaters in Burlington and the surrounding North Country. The advisory stems from southerly winds gusting to 29 mph, which are building waves to heights of one to three feet on the lake overnight.

The storm system brings scattered showers to the region on Thursday. Forecasters predict the heaviest rain will fall during the morning and early afternoon hours. While totals will vary between towns, a high of 68 degrees marks the peak of this unusually warm stretch for early November.

Temperatures begin to drop following Thursday's rain. Friday brings mostly cloudy skies and a dry forecast, with highs near 64 degrees. By Saturday, the weather turns cooler with a mix of sun and clouds, and isolated showers become likely, particularly in southern Vermont.

Precipitation patterns shift as the cold front settles over the state. Saturday night and Sunday morning bring a mix of valley rain and mountain snow, with the heaviest activity expected in the southern part of Vermont. Sunday's high will reach 51 degrees before falling to 41 degrees that evening.

The cooler pattern continues into the start of next week. Monday brings highs of 48 degrees and lows near 36 degrees, with continued chances of snow in the mountains and rain in the valleys. Accumulations at the highest summits are currently projected to be just a few inches.

Clearer weather is expected to arrive by Tuesday. The day should be mostly sunny with a high of 54 degrees and an overnight low of 39 degrees. Partly sunny skies are forecast for Wednesday, with temperatures hovering near 49 degrees.
