New seasons of two popular British and French series are now available for local residents with a Mountain Lake PBS Passport membership. The additions expand the streaming library accessible to subscribers in the US and Canada.
The second season of The Gold returns to the Brink’s-Mat gold theft. Police had previously convicted some of the individuals who stole and handled the metal. Investigators then realized the criminals only possessed half of the total amount. Hugh Bonneville, Jack Lowden, and Dominic Cooper reprise their roles. The new episodes trace the other half of the gold. The storyline follows the money that fortune generated. The Brink’s-Mat Task Force conducts a series of manhunts. The narrative explores international money laundering and organized crime. This remains the longest and most expensive investigation in Metropolitan Police history.
The Intern also offers a new set of episodes. The series follows Constance and Barth, Boris and Solene, and prosecutor Quiring. Each character faces a turning point in their personal relationships. One couple adjusts to change. Another tests its future. Quiring falls in love unexpectedly. The show portrays romance, family, and work colliding across three different life stages. The episodes are in French with English subtitles.
Mountain Lake PBS lists Passport as an added benefit of membership. Donations starting at $8 per month unlock the service. This equals $96 per year. The service provides extended access to a library of hundreds of PBS programs. The network now accepts donations from viewers in Canada as well as the US.
