Gloria Trevi to Receive Gold Artist Honor in Puerto Vallarta

The HEAT Latin Music Awards are moving to Mexico for the first time this week, bringing the ceremony to Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco. The event marks a shift from previous locations in the Dominican Republic and Colombia, establishing a new host country for the annual music honors.

Gloria Trevi will receive the Gold Artist award during the November 5 ceremony. The recognition is designed to celebrate her artistic career, which spans more than 35 years. This special honor has previously been given to Latin music figures such as Juanes, Ricardo Montaner, Carlos Vives, and Nicky Jam.

Diana Montes, the CEO of the HEAT Latin Music Awards, announced the tribute in a media release. She described the Gold Artist recipient as a superstar who has written their own history in Latin music and continues to do so. Montes specifically noted that Trevi recently released the song 'Intensamente' with her sons, Angel and Armando Gomez.

Montes also mentioned that Trevi is preparing a new album. According to the CEO, the award recognizes both the singer's past achievements and her upcoming projects. The ceremony will also include a tribute to Puerto Rican artist Olga Tanon, who has released 25 albums and numerous singles that have shaped Latin culture.

The current award nominations are led by Karol G. Other artists with high numbers of nominations include Bad Bunny, Carlos Rivera, and Shakira. The winners for each category will be determined by fan voting rather than a traditional industry jury. The voting process allows listeners to directly influence the outcomes of the competition.

The ceremony takes place on November 5 in Puerto Vallarta. This is the first time the HEAT Latin Music Awards will be held in Mexico. Past editions were hosted in the Dominican Republic and Colombia. The event serves as a major gathering for the Latin music industry, bringing together established stars and rising artists for the annual presentation of awards.
