The Gulf Coast will receive 1 to 3 inches of rain between Saturday and Wednesday, breaking a three-week dry stretch that began when Hurricane Isaias passed on October 9. Forecasters say this rainfall is needed to replenish soil moisture across the region.
Rain will arrive in two distinct phases. The first begins with scattered showers on Saturday and peaks on Sunday. The second arrives Wednesday with a stronger storm system.
Saturday afternoon and evening will bring widely scattered showers. Trick-or-treaters in Mobile and surrounding areas may encounter brief wet spells, though not everyone will see rain. Temperatures remain slightly above normal, and while some thunder is possible, widespread severe weather is not expected.
Rain chances increase to 60% on Sunday as the system intensifies. This is the wettest day of the weekend. Rainfall will be light to moderate, and thunder may accompany the precipitation. Sunday marks the transition into November, and the rain will continue as the system moves through the area.
Monday and Tuesday provide a dry break. Conditions will be mostly clear on Monday. On Election Day Tuesday, rain chances drop to 20%, with only isolated showers possible. Voters can expect favorable weather for heading to the polls.
A significant storm system will arrive Wednesday, bringing thunderstorms to the Gulf Coast. This is the second major rain event of the week. Forecasters do not anticipate widespread severe weather, but they will monitor the system as it approaches.
The region has not received substantial rain since Hurricane Isaias on October 9. The 1 to 3 inches predicted for the next seven days will help close the rain deficit. Soil moisture levels in the Gulf Coast are currently low, making this period critical for local agriculture and water reserves.
Temperatures will stay mild and slightly above normal throughout the week. The rain will not bring a sharp drop in heat, keeping conditions comfortable despite the increased cloud cover and precipitation.
FOX10 News will provide updates on the weekend showers and the Wednesday storm system. Residents should check the latest forecasts for specific timing of the rain events.
