Americans will cast ballots for local, state, and federal offices on Tuesday, November 3.
All 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are up for election. Voters will also choose 35 U.S. Senators. Governor races are on the ballot in 36 states. The results will determine which party controls Congress. Republicans aim to keep their majority through the final two years of President Donald Trump's second term. Democrats seek to gain control of both chambers.
Polls show several Senate races remain close. Texas, Michigan, and Alaska feature some of the most closely watched contests. Latest polling labels the Senate races in those states as toss-ups before Election Day.
The Supreme Court begins its November oral argument session this week. Justices will hear seven hours of arguments across five days. The session runs from November 2 through November 10. The docket includes the case St. Mary Catholic Parish v. Roy. The case examines if excluding a Catholic preschool from Colorado's universal preschool program constitutes religious discrimination. The Court will hear arguments in that case on Tuesday, November 3.
The election and the court session will proceed as scheduled.
