Burlington residents will experience a warm and dry start to November after turning their clocks back to Standard Time on Sunday. The National Weather Service predicts mostly sunny conditions for the remainder of the week, with temperatures well above the seasonal norm.
Meteorologists report that Monday will be dry and even warmer than Sunday, with high temperatures reaching the mid-50s to low 60s. Wednesday is forecast to be the warmest day of the week, bringing plenty of sunshine and highs in the 60s. A few locations may reach 70 degrees. The day will be breezy, keeping fire danger at a high level in parts of the region, though red flag status is not expected.
Tuesday, Election Day, will feature mostly cloudy skies with highs in the 50s, though a few areas may see the low 60s. An isolated shower is possible in the northern parts of the area.
A storm system will introduce much-needed rain later in the week. Thursday is expected to be mostly cloudy with showers likely. The forecast for Friday and Saturday remains uncertain, but the chance for showers may continue. High temperatures on those days will be in the 50s, with overnight lows dropping into the 40s.
Weather models currently differ on the exact track and duration of the storm system. The rain is expected to continue into next weekend, providing relief after the warm start to the month.
