Two employees of VistaPrint lost their lives in a head-on collision that occurred earlier this week.
The crash took place around 6 a.m. on Wednesday on County Road 22 in Essex County. Ontario Provincial Police report that the sequence began when one vehicle traveled on the wrong side of the road. That car struck a second vehicle, causing minor damage and leaving no injuries in the first impact. The first vehicle then continued and collided head-on with a third car.
Cimpress, the parent company of VistaPrint, confirmed that two of the individuals in the accident were colleagues. Both drivers involved in the final head-on crash died at the scene. A passenger from each of the two vehicles was transported to Windsor Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries. One of those passengers later died, while the other was airlifted to a hospital in London.
The company released a statement to CTV News expressing its sorrow over the incident. "We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident involving two of our Cimpress / VistaPrint colleagues," the statement read. It added that their thoughts and condolences were with the families and loved ones of the victims.
Cimpress said it is focused on supporting its staff and providing necessary resources and care in the coming days. The company stated it would not share further details at this time to respect the privacy of those involved and their families.
The crash remains under investigation by authorities.
