Sphere Entertainment has announced plans to bring The Rocky Horror Picture Show to its Las Vegas venue. The new production, titled The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Sphere, is scheduled to debut in 2027. This addition joins existing shows like Postcard from Earth and The Wizard of Oz at Sphere.

The project will be developed by Sphere Studios in partnership with Primary Wave Music and 20th Century Studios. The team intends to use the venue's advanced visual and audio technology to reimagine the 1975 musical film. The adaptation will utilize the venue's massive wraparound screen. It aims to preserve the spirit that turned the movie into a major audience-participation phenomenon.

The original film starred Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick. Since its release in 1975, the movie evolved from a modest box office performer into a midnight movie institution. It is known for generations of devoted fans, elaborate costumes, and interactive traditions. Sphere's adaptation marks the latest effort to bring the film to new audiences using technologically enhanced storytelling.

Jim Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment, stated that Sphere Studios is building a slate of original experiences. He said these experiences push the boundaries of technology and storytelling for this new medium while keeping the audience at the center. Dolan noted that the 1975 premiere redefined audience participation and became a cultural phenomenon. He added that Sphere provides the opportunity to take that spirit of immersion to an entirely new level.

The company has not yet announced an opening date or ticket details for the new show. The production will become part of The Sphere Experience portfolio. This portfolio includes recent launches that have adapted classic films for the venue's expansive visual and sensory capabilities. The new attraction continues the venue's focus on large-scale immersive entertainment in Las Vegas.

Residents and fans interested in the new production can visit thesphere.com for more information. The announcement confirms the next step in the venue's expansion of its entertainment lineup. The project represents a significant collaboration between entertainment and technology companies to reinterpret a classic film for a modern audience.
