Julian Lewis, the backup quarterback for the University of Colorado, experienced a medical emergency at the school's athletic facility on Wednesday. His father, T. Carlton Lewis, confirmed the incident on social media on Thursday morning, stating that his son has been transported to a hospital.

T. Carlton Lewis described Lewis as recovering and expressed gratitude to the medical staff, teammates, and fans. The family asked for privacy during this period. Colorado issued a statement saying the university extends full support to Lewis and his family, noting that his health and well-being are the top priority.

The Buffaloes' coaching staff and players are assisting with the recovery process. Wide receiver Joseph Williams posted on social media that he was praying for Lewis and emphasized the importance of mental health for athletes. Williams noted that the public often judges athletes without knowing the internal pressures they face.

Lewis is in his second year at Colorado. He began the season as the starting quarterback before coach Deion Sanders shifted the offensive lead to Isaac Wilson. Lewis has passed for 733 yards and six touchdowns while throwing two interceptions this season.

Last month, Lewis set a record against Weber State by throwing four touchdown passes in the first half and rushing for another. The team plays Kansas State on Saturday.
