A Gallup poll indicates that 43% of Americans currently hold a positive view of socialism. This marks the first time this percentage has been reached since 2010. Lily Tang Williams, the Republican nominee for New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District, cited this statistic to argue that the political landscape in Washington is shifting toward ideologies aligned with the Chinese Communist Party.

Williams, who escaped China following the Tiananmen Square massacre, is running against incumbent Rep. Maggie Goodlander. She told Fox News Digital that China wants to bring down the United States. Williams stated that Beijing would exploit America's weakness if Democrats gain power in Congress in January. She described the country she loves as becoming the country she left.

The candidate pointed to a recent trip to China by the Democratic Socialists of America as evidence of growing ties. She claimed that more than a dozen high-ranking DSA members traveled there to produce favorable coverage of the regime. Williams argued that the Chinese government is using a vulnerable Democratic Party to promote itself in the United States. She noted that the two groups now share a similar ideology.

Williams also linked Democratic immigration policies to national security risks. She suggested that current policies make it easier for Chinese intelligence operatives to enter the country. She warned about the potential for espionage activity along the southern border. These arguments form part of her broader case that moderate Democrats are failing to protect the nation from internal threats.

The nominee believes the DSA has a growing influence inside the Democratic Party. She stated that the party is hijacked by the DSA and that voters may be afraid to speak out against extremism. Williams predicted that at least six new DSA-affiliated lawmakers could join Congress in January. She warned that Congress will be controlled by people who sympathize with the CCP and its Marxist principles.

Williams criticized Goodlander for refusing to condemn Marxism. She specifically mentioned New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as a figure that her opponent does not criticize. Williams argued that moderate Democrats could increasingly side with the party's progressive wing in the 120th Congress. She said this refusal to address ideological differences is troubling.

During a phone interview, Williams raised concerns about lawmakers with Marxist sympathies gaining access to classified information. She stated that the country could fall from within because it lacks a good policy to protect national security. Goodlander, the DSA, and the Democratic Party did not respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
