Paramount+ will release eight episodes of Frisco King on Friday, Dec. 18. The new crime drama serves as a direct spinoff of Tulsa King, expanding that universe through the character of Russell Lee Washington Jr.
Samuel L. Jackson returns to his role as Lee, a New Orleans gangster first introduced in the third season of the Sylvester Stallone-led series. Taylor Sheridan wrote the script for this follow-up project. Sheridan, Jackson, and Stallone all hold executive producer credits on the show.
The plot centers on Lee relocating to Frisco, Texas. He attempts to build a criminal enterprise within a suburban environment. The story tracks his evolution from small-time schemes to a larger operation. This growth brings him into conflict with increasingly dangerous consequences.
Lee receives assistance from an ambitious protégé, a trusted driver, and a group of unconventional associates. The newly released trailer provides a first look at this setting. It also depicts Lee's ongoing connection to Dwight Manfredi, a character played by Stallone in the original series.
The cast features Asa Germann, Kai Caster, Lilah Pate, and Savanna Gann. Stallone makes a special appearance in the production. Christina Alexandra Voros directs the premiere episode. Michael Friedman also serves as a director for the series.
The series will debut with two episodes on Dec. 18. New installments will follow every Friday thereafter. Frisco King adds to the slate of dramas currently produced for the streaming platform.
