Yavapai County deputies say they cannot independently confirm the identity of the woman located in Mexico.

A woman missing since March 2024 was reportedly located in Tijuana on Oct. 23, but her family and Arizona investigators say they are not convinced it is her.
Shayna Feinman, 35, was reported missing after she vanished on March 9, 2024, while walking to a friend's house, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said she left without a trace. Two men were arrested in connection with her disappearance later that year.
A Tijuana security force said it found a woman matching Feinman's description in an Encino neighborhood on Oct. 23 and confirmed the person as Feinman. Officials with the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said they have not been able to independently verify the identification, citing "insufficient evidence." Feinman's sister, Kara, said she did not recognize the person shown from Mexico and had no hard proof the woman was her sister.
Tijuana officials said the woman has been moved to a safe location while she awaits contact with the Feinman family and U.S. authorities. No details were released about how Feinman might have reached Mexico. Kara said reports of sightings with little supporting evidence from law enforcement have been disheartening for the family, and added this was not the first such report. The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said it continues to investigate the new developments in the case.
