Terron Lamon Banks faces multiple charges after deputies stopped him at a Spartanbus station.

Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis announced the arrest of Terron Lamon Banks, a 25-year-old man linked to a series of late-night burglaries that targeted women living alone.
Investigators first became aware of the incident cluster on October 16 after noticing distinct patterns in recent crimes. Lewis stated that the cases shared specific similarities, with suspects entering or attempting to enter homes where the female occupants were present and alone.
Detectives connected Banks to four separate burglaries committed in September. In one instance, the suspect entered an apartment through an unlocked window while the resident was sleeping. Banks now faces four counts of first-degree burglary, one count of grand larceny, and one count of voyeurism.
Deputies took Banks into custody at a bus station in Spartanburg County. He was attempting to board a bus to Atlanta when officers stopped him. Lewis noted that the sheriff’s office maintains strong relationships with neighboring counties, which aided in the quick apprehension before the suspect could leave the region.
The sheriff’s office is actively investigating five additional incidents in the area that match the circumstances of the known cases. DNA evidence from the scenes has been sent to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division for processing to determine if Banks is responsible for those other break-ins.
Lewis described Banks as an outsider to Greenville County with a prior criminal history. The sheriff suggested that the suspect likely began his pattern of crimes in other locations, stating that authorities hope to bring justice to victims in other parts of the country.
Authorities asked anyone who believes they were a victim or has relevant information to call the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office at 864-467-5300. Lewis urged residents to remain vigilant by keeping doors and windows locked and to be aware of their surroundings when alone at home.
